Considering the results of the events in October of 1930, Getúlio Vargas opponent s version occupied secondary positions in History that transformed the rise of the ex-president in a watershed. This work is dedicated to study the constitutionalist revolution of 1932 that, as other events in Vargas Age, is told from the memory of survivors and former combatants. The meaning of this writing is analyzed from the journalist Paulo Duarte's (1899-1984) work, Palmares pelo avesso. In this chronicle, the author recounted his experience in the battlefield and critically examined the outcome of the war. Similarities and differences are found between the constitutionalist s writings Paulo Duarte, Armando Brussolo and Euclydes Figueiredo.
