Resumo: |
The artificial cooling of grains is a tool to the conservation of the grains’ quality most promising mainly in tropical areas. This work was carried out in order to check the effect of corn in a store bulk horizontal. For the experiment was used two septa, one cooled artificially, with a capacity of 28.000 tonnes and another with aeration with natural air, with a capacity of 29.000 tonnes. The corn used was collected in the region of Jataí-GO in small harvest from 2006. The cooling was done by a mobile cooler unit in two stages. The samples were taken in the entrance of the product for the storage, at 60th, 120th days after the beginning of the cooling and in the expedition of the grains. During storage the samples were realized with a probe of range of 0,1 to 20 meters of deep in the positions and in the depths pre-determined. The positions were located across the width of the store, in the thermometric cables, being one on each side, two intermediate and one central, and the depths were according to the positions. The samples were homogenized and subjected to tests for the variables: 1) weight of 1000 grains; 2) content of oil; 3) acidity of the oil; 4) percentage of grains infested; 5) index of insects. Was studied the effect and the evolution of the temperature in the two septa and the expense in kWh to the cooling and aeration on each septum. A decrease occurred in the number of infected grains by insects in the refreshed mass. There was significant decrease in the number of insects in refreshed store in the sample during storage, however, the expedition there was no significant difference. In this septum the number of insects was superior in the superficial sampling. A trend of the refreshed septum to have a lower percent in the evolution of the oil’s acidity was observed, but there was a superficial increase in the oil’s acidity in the two septa. The equipment utilized to the cooling of the grains showed one uniformity of the temperature in the mass of grains in refreshed septum. In the aerated septum, the temperature varied conform the temperature of the ambience air. |
