Resumo: |
The thesis is the result of research on how public policies focusing on school libraries can affect the training of readers in Basic Education from the Stricto Sensu Professional Master’s Course of the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ensino na Educação Básica of the Centro de Ensino e Pesquisa Aplicada à Educação (CEPAE) of the Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG). The research had as reference the Programa Nacional Biblioteca na Escola (PNBE), later merged with the Programa Nacional do Livro e do Material Didático e Literário (PNLD Literário), having in mind the principles of the School Library Manifesto, drawn by the International Federation of Associations and Library Institutions (IFLA) and approved by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the IFLA/Unesco School Library Guidelines. The purpose of the research carried out is to contribute to studies in the areas of Education, Librarianship, and Information Science, with emphasis on the importance of the school library as a space for socialization and construction of knowledge, for expanding access to information and cultural heritage, and for the formation of readers. The assumption of the research was that public policies for accessing information and encouraging reading become effective, to fulfill their purposes, with the structuring of work based on development objectives and strategies and permanent evaluation of actions committed with the principles of the school library (SL). Thus, it is aimed to discuss the importance of policies and programs, such as the PNBE/PNLD Literário, and to present possibilities for their implementation. Experiences involving the school community at the Centro de Ensino e Pesquisa Aplicada à Educação at the Universidade Federal de Goiás (Cepae-UFG), were the basis for the proposed investigation, which was carried out through the formulation of the Discourse of the Collective Subject (DCS) of the 6th grade students at Elementary School (ES), in the 2020 school year. The data were obtained through online interviews. The Educational Product of the research is a memoir, entitled Auntie, I want that book!: memories and experiences about the school library, based on the experiences related to the interaction with the space and collection of the SL of the subjects involved in the research - students, teachers, former teachers, coordinators of Primary and Middle School, educators who works at the Cepae library and former librarians of the institution. The book also contains two chronicles based on the experiences of the researcher and her advisor, trying to point out the relevance of the book, reading, and the SL. The theoretical framework consists of documents that regulate the access to information policies and guide the functioning of the SL, as well as studies related to the promotion of reading and the dynamization of this space, such as those carried out by: Maroto (2012), Chartier (2002), Bretas (2014), Nóbrega |
