Resumo: |
The landscape potential of a place or a region is one of the primary steps to start developing geoconservation practices. The present work aims to analyze the potential of Serra do Gigante in Itapuranga/GO city and present geotourism as a geoconservation strategy and promote the conservation of the abiotic nature of the entire complex. Serra do Gigante is located within an Environmental Protection Area - APA totaling 9.26 km², with a perimeter of 13,692.525 meters. Although its creation was based essentially on biodiversity, geomorphological processes occur in the area and requires study. One of the goals of this work was to analyze the landscape potential of Serra do Gigante, especially in the scope of geodiversity, as an instrument of assessment and valuation of the landscape, where the focus of the analysis was the valuation of the mountain with the aim of sustainable use of the area through geotourism. The methodology used was divided into four stages: the first, the survey and theoretical analysis, for the understanding of concepts, based on authors such as: Pereira (2006), Brilha (2005), Mansur (2009), Ab'Saber (2003 ) and others; the second stage, conducting field research, to recognize the area, photographic record and georeferencing and cartographic survey to produce the physiographic characterization; the third, an inventory of places of geomorphological interest, guided by the qualitative assessment of Pereira (2006) and the fourth, the proposal of a geotouristic roadmap for the place. From the selection of eight sites of geomorphological interest within the complex, the physiographic characterization performed and the map of the geotouristic script, present in the methodology used, it was possible to highlight the geodiversity of the complex and verify its landscape and geomorphological potential for both didactic and geotouristic use. It was concluded, therefore, that the APA Serra do Gigante has landscape potential to develop geotourism activities that can facilitate and contribute to the knowledge of the Earth's history, its valorization and consequent geoconservation. |
