Resumo: |
The objective of the study was to analyze the mechanical properties and analyze the surface of the wires coated polymers. Methods: We used the pre-contoured wires study with dimension of 0.014 "Nickel- Titanium (NiTi) brands: Tecident orthodontic equipment Ltda (São Carlos, São Paulo Brazil), TP Orthodontics (Indiana, USA), Trianeiro ( Rio Claro, São Paulo Brazil) and NiTi wire Morelli (Sorocaba, Sao Paulo Brazil) as a control group. The yarns were randomly divided into 11 groups (n = 6) .There were carried deflection test. The yarns were immersed in artificial saliva for a period of 30 to 60 days to corrode. After the wire corrosion were also submitted for the analysis of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Results: We used the ANOVA analysis of variance, which were statistically significant differences between the tested wire and the controle.Foram group observed imperfections on the surfaces of all the wire and the wire TP Orthodontics showed the greatest changes. Conclusions: The polymeric coating appears to be responsible for the mechanical surface change and the NiTi wires. |
