Resumo: |
The object of study of this thesis is the concept of passion within French Semiotics, which therefore encompasses standard semiotics, Tensive Semiotics and Sociosemiotics. This work has as its research theme the passions, a subject studied and debated since classical antiquity by different branches of knowledge and, obviously, by different researchers. The main concept of passion analyzed by us is found in the work Semiotics of Passions (GREIMAS and FONTANILLE, 1993 [1991]). The main semioticians who advanced the theory had to return to the theoretical gaps in order to review epistemological and methodological issues, as happened in the study of passions. Each concept of passion forged in semiotics (standard, tensive and socio-semiotics) is at the service of a methodology, however, it is not possible to observe, in each semiotic model, the formation of a new paradigm, that is, there is no theoretical detachment to the point of generate a new field of knowledge. Even without a new theoretical formation, the concepts of passion in Semiotics do not dialogue in a fruitful way with each other, therefore, a clear and conscious conceptual complementarity is not observed, which can denote a misunderstanding that there is a distance between the semiotic models. Therefore, we seek, as a work objective, to develop a concept of passion that can be applied in Classical Semiotics, Tensive Semiotics and Sociosemiotics, thus ensuring an intertwining between the semiotic models without affecting the methodological individuality of the strands of the theory. For the construction of this work, we made a conjunction between linguistic historiography, as proposed by Milani (2011; 2019), and the foundations of the Methodology of Research Programs by Lakatos (1989; 1979). Through Linguistic Historiography it was possible to recover and demonstrate how the climate of opinion of each time had an impact on the concept of passion architected in Semiotics. Based on the notion of Research Programs, it was possible to sustain that the research object analyzed by us makes up a solid research program in Semiotics that favors the progression of theory. Within this work we understand that it is impossible not to be under the influence of language and passions, so that they take shape from the language. To support this idea, we take as linguistic epistemology the studies of Wilhelm von Humboldt (2006a, 2006b) and Ferdinand de Saussure (2002; 2012). Intending to reinforce the defense of our thesis, we seek subsidies in the philosophical concepts of the Frenchman Claude Adrien Helvétius (1973) about the physical sensitivity of man. Therefore, our proposal for a concept for the passions, which can be applied to any Semiotic model, is that it is a social product of the faculty of perception in relation to the world objectified by language. We believe that this concept does not cause methodological damage to Semiotics and should not be understood as a new paradigm. Such a conceptual proposal should be seen as a reinforcement that aims both at the protection and the progress of the Semiotics theory. |
