Resumo: The research study investigates issues involved in the intervention of the psychologist in groups of the Children and Youth Psychosocial Care Center (Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Infantojuvenil - CAPSi), and, specifically, investigate the contributions of psychoanalysis for this. The study was carried out through bibliographic research in materials that deal with: public mental health policies, psychoanalysis group theories and the specificities of the children's clinic. Initially contextualized the CAPSi as social policy and as alternative proposal and critique of the normative perspective that won notoriety in modernity. The policy indicates that the services must have therapeutic groups and this study sought to elucidate both the historical elements involved in this proposition, as the contemporary production brazilian about group experiences for children based on psychoanalysis. It was held also a reflection about the technique of groups with kids from this theoretical approach and, at the end, discussed directions and challenges to the psychologist who conducts psychoanalytic groups with kids in CAPSi. The group perspectives referenced in psychoanalysis today comprise a plurality of techniques, that are difficult to systematize and, often criticized within the analytic movement. Still, the psychoanalysis of groups with children is one of the relevant possibilities, because it is consonant with the presuppositions of the Psychiatric Reform. The study requires deepening in the concepts of the method, considering the specificities of the groups with children and of the institution that is realized. It is expected that this study can contribute to the training of psychologists and to the development of policies.
