Resumo: This dissertation explains Paulo Freire's contributions to the reflection on corporeality in the context of body education. It discusses pertinent aspects to body concepts, problematizing the banking character of education. It is an eminently theoretical-bibliographical work that prioritizes the analysis of the book Pedagogy of the Oppressed, as well as other Freire's texts, and the area of physical education. In this perspective, it denounces the conditions of oppression suffered by the corporality of men and women, mediated by the strategies of domination unveiled in the theory of antidialogical action. It takes as its announcement Freire's understanding of the approximation between body, corporeality, and dialogicity. The Freirean categories of conscious body, integrity and beauty are approached, aiming to develop contributions to the reflection that problematizes the banking characteristics, sometimes present in the educational processes that concern body education and corporeality. In this way, there are two dimensions of contributions that illustrate the final considerations: the one that excels for freedom and autonomy of corporality in educational processes; and the one that aims at the realization of reflexive, dialogic and problematizing body practices, which have as horizon the comprehension of human beings in the face of the possibility of “being more”.
