Resumo: The research aims to examine and analyze the different tropicalist experiments around the debate on sexuality, focusing on the field of music and its different forms of expression. For its development, the device of sexuality will be thought of as an instrument of liberation and repression in the dictatorial context of Brazil in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The sources will consist of period newspapers and magazines, biographical texts, album covers and music performed in the different cultural environments of the period, from the recording studio to the stages with auditoriums. Therefore, the research intends to analyze the contributions of the tropicalist group on the development of power disputes over sexuality and how they themselves were affected positively and negatively within the political game.
