This work of research contributes with the new perspectives of the flexible work. Concernente is developed through the consolidation of the revision of literature. Structure it conceptualization on the flexible work and the work in the domicile. A reflexion/investigation is presented on the application of the flexible work in the sectorial archives of a public institution of superior education. One identifies to the advantages and disadvantages in the implementation of the stages of the flexible work of the archivist are identified. Some final considerations and suggestions with respect to future research on auditorship of management systems, monitoring of services of the flexible work of the archivist, professional ethics of the archivist, potentiality in the organization and the flexible work of the archivist in the public university are pointed
