Resumo: | This work shows the challenges faced by Management Services Administration during the process of managing and implementing a project in Brazil. The case study was used to support the construction of a steel megacomplex in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil - at the beginning of XXI century. The work shows the use of total quality management and project management in the analysis of two specific areas that are (1) Food of contractor‟s employees, and (2) the demobilization of these employees. The project under consideration is the biggest private investiment over the last twenty years in Latin America (according to Internal Communication Public Affairs released on April 18th, 2011 at 6:03 PM), with costs around 6 billion euros and more than thirty thousand professionals directly involved: a startup company that built - during the project - its vision, mission and values. The task of demobilization was implemented with the aim of fulfilling the commitments regarding labor and social security issues on the part of the contractors at the time of demobilization of their employees. Was evaluated by the author, through project management, the use of a control tool, created and developed with the mission to avoid or reduce any labor / social inconsistencies in the relationship between workers and employers. Regarding the nutrition control program, the goal will be to ensure the quality and quantity of food served by the contractors, to preserve the health and welfare of their employees. The focus is on food quality which involves the stages of production, transportation and final distribution of food to the canteens and restaurants all over the project area. The search starts in the construction phase and extends to the operation start of the Siderurgy megacomplex. The theoretical support to project management includes the PMBOK® Guide. The bibliography aims to support the concepts of Process Management, Planning and Total Quality Management whose research project is the Project Management. On this way, Thyssenkrupp CSA Siderúrgica do Atlântico intends to assure its commitment to social responsibility towards contractors‟ employees, in order to improve the health and quality of life of those who work in the construction of its megacomplex steel. |
