This paper examines the perspectives for the necessary assessment of safety compliance in automated machines with a view to political, social, technical and economic developments in Brazil. The methodological approach develops over a literature and exploratory search, supported by a review of academic literature, the relevant legislation and technical and situational reports produced by entities and civil society organizations, justifying the need for this assessment given the potential severity of an accident in an automated installation and little available literature published in Portuguese. As a result of the content, it presents a systematic approach applied in the form of a Conceptual Map that can be easily and quickly understood and modified, thus contributing to a collaborative process of knowledge creation.
