This research is an investigation that, oriented by concepts which were deepened by Geography, aims to prove the aesthetic presence of rurality on urban landscapes,especially in Rio de Janeiro. In order to do so, photographic registers and interviews, obtained in urban spatial fragments in the municipal district and metropolitan region with emphasis to their yards, are presented. In the analysis of these landscapes,questions related to socio-cultural aspects and their importance while production of lived spaces, places that are characteristics of a long process called by some authors as the Brazilian civilized assay, are presented. We observe their compromise face the fascination and the impositions of an urbanization of external references that impose themselves in a hegemonic way, through a model of rationality which scarcely combine itself with the interculturality which result from the major and more complex immersion in the diversity experienced by a people. The study also verifies the lack of publications, sensibilities and interventions more adequate to the landscapes that mix themselves with some aspects of rurality. Though verified in Rio de Janeiro, the incidence of aesthetic appropriation of rurality occurs in various Brazilian landscapes, including in those which goes through accelerated processes of urbanization which, in some cases, are precarious. Brazil still preserves a memory of rurality in solutions that need to be better observed in their urban realities full of inequalities, differences, conflicts and wealth. Promising and auspicious universes to conciliate the rural, the urban and the old forms of pleasure, creation and life in the places in new and surprising designs, join, in such a way, project and destiny,advantages of the conceived and of the lived.
