The present work has its focus on the silence as a destabilizing element of traditional discourse practices, that re-acts itself in many different ways. Having as starting point the identification of its configurations in the novels A hora da estrela, mainly, and A paixão segundo G.H., written by Clarice Lispector, Estorvo and Budapeste, by Chico Buarque, we aim to promote a dialogue among them and some of the most representative writers of the philosophical thought who have been devoting themselves to the question since the second half of XX century: Roland Barthes, Maurice Blanchot, and, more recently, Jean-François Lyotard and Gilles Deleuze. The neutral and the sublime are some of the themes to be considered in our analysis, and their relationship with writing, space and movement.
