The core of this research is anthroponomastics concerned with English names that takes place especially in Duque de Caxias as well as in Belford Roxo, Nova Iguaçu, Magé and São João de Meriti, Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro . This ethnographic research was held in public and private schools in those cities at the very beginning of 2004 until 2007. It is largely concerned with lexicology i.e., the personal naming system dotted all over the whole Baixada Fluminense in order to observe how English proper names are presented to parents, why parents adopt them for their children. The social identity of those who are the English proper name users and their parents are also investigated. The research is divided in two main groups at first: a) The thesis itself is strictly linked to English loans concerned to the English proper names adopted by Brazilian resident citizens in Baixada Fluminense. The research took place especially in public and private schools besides two industrial environments. An extensive population was used for the research in order to get the data collection; b) The appendix ( in cd ) is composed by an amount of rich portfolio for the study such as graphics, tables, questionnaires and class lists of presences,
