Violence against children and adolescents is a prominent topic of discussion in Brazil today, and that is being faced, especially by health area. Studying this issue is extremely important to identify the gridlock and the current guidelines in order to set appointments for their best confrontation. Thus, this dissertation is aimed to discuss domestic violence against children and adolescents and their entanglements with the health sector. We made an initial discussion about violence, especially with regard to the domestic realm, pointing to the legacy normative framework related to childhood and adolescence in Brazil, highlighting the Children and Adolescents Statute. We discussed the issue of reporting domestic violence against children and adolescents occurred in Brazil, as well as investigate how this process has been happened with the health professionals of emergency services. We have as research context two emergency services located in Campos dos Goytacazes city.
