Saramago s novel Blindness (1995) is the object of study in this thesis which aims to sharpen about making your aesthetic, from the apprehension of the formal and thematic evidence pointing to a possible projection of the baroque aesthetic. Considering the work referenced a sample of the narrative of today, we can then evaluate how it occurs and the configuration of the representation in contemporary thought and reflect on this coherent and meaningful dialogue. Therefore, this study will be placed on the agenda of the scenarios that serve as the stage for the configuration of a Baroque aesthetic or the baroque style, the playful and witty words, and the expressiveness of the themes that guide this great literary and artistic expression.
