Resumo: | This essay develops reflections identifying and making the most of the teaching skills aimed at improving the quality of education and stimulating the learning of the student. The study seeks to explore the teacher-student relationship and the result of the educational process. The main focus of the study is the potential of academic leaders and students to express, in their own words, the skills needed for lessonplanning. This survey takes into consideration the view that the first group is responsible for the evaluation and guidance of teachers, as per the University, while the views of the second group have carry considerable weight in improving the educational process. The study presents the evolution of the history of Universities, applying the concepts of skills logic, taking into account as a basis of reference the works of authors such as Zarifian and Perrenoud, which sets up and offers a list of dimensions of the skills needed as an educator to institutions of learning, when confronted with new functions. The study then goes on to develop this area in greater detail, beyond a theoretical basis, by surveying a population of more than two hundred students who are between the third and seventh periods of their courses, as well as more than two hundred individuals who perform the duty of academic leadership from a cross-section of courses in the private sector of higher-learning en Rio de Janeiro. The students from the first and last terms were not surveyed, taking into account the possibility that they would have different levels of maturity and experience, which could influence their perception and evaluation of the teacher. The survey indicates, in conclusion, the professional skills brought up by the students and academic leaders for effective teaching, hoping to pinpoint those deemed most necessary to achieve the greatest quality of teaching and learning. |
