Resumo: The leakage of corporate information is a constant concern of businesses and can occur in several ways, including through the involvement of its employees in social networks. There is a considerable increase of types of social networks and consequently an increase in the number of people beyond their personal information on social networking sites post information of the company they work for. Access social networking is increasingly simple because with the widespread use of mobile devices like smartphone, people can stay connected to social networks practically all day, including during your work and can post news almost in when they occur and thus have the possibility of having classified as confidential business information being inadvertently disclosed by company employees, intentionally or even accidentally. The information posted on social networks spreads at a rate consistent with the number of participants in the network can reach thousands of people almost instantly, without the possibility of being excluded. Because they can cause great harm to the company is required to use guidelines that employees use them to their full potential, but no harm. The guidelines are being adopted as preventive measures to educate employees of their responsibility. This study aims to define information governance guidelines on social networks, by presenting policies for use of social media used by companies.
