The information communication role, related to the technical barriers to trade theme, has been considered significant as a subsidy for the decision making process on technical requirements adopted worldwide. Aiming at analyzing such a role, we present the study on the reorganization project of the Brazilian Enquiry Point for the Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade of the World Trade Organization. In the scope of the mentioned reorganization project the Sistema Alerta Exportador was developed, aiming at the establishment of communication channels, which make possible the information communication effectiveness. This study points out aspects related to the language uses applied on sensitization and capacity building actions to promote the interaction process among the users and the mechanism, to the relevance in the information dissemination process and to the informational barriers to be surpassed. It was also possible to verify the lack of public polices as concerns the area.
