The companies in the current days live in intense competitiveness. They look for the maxim quality in your products and services, and times, they forget the as this production can contemplate positively or mainly negatively to the environment and the man. The managerial way, and especially in this study the industry of the building site in the State of Rio de Janeiro can contribute so that the impacts of this production are not so negative, with the application of administration practices based on beginnings of the sustainability. In this study an analysis is accomplished with relationship to the sustainability in building site companies that act in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Reflections are presented on the sustainable development, your practices, your implantation in the industrial way and your influence in the society and in the competitiveness of the companies. The starting from field research and of the comparison among the collected data and the one that it is considered in the literature on sustainable management, a research is accomplished with questionnaires to 23 professionals of the industry of the building site in the State of Rio de Janeiro and two companies are brought in this section that you/they can serve as reference for other, with the exhibition of your administration practices based on beginnings of the sustainability. A model of sustainable management is presented, based on the beginnings of the Agenda 21 of the Brazilian building site, proposed by Brazilian researchers presenting examples of administration practices based on the sustainability, in Brazil and in the exterior. With the analysis of the results of theresearch, it could be concluded that the application of the administration practices based on beginnings of the sustainability it is still incipient in these researched companies, and the concepts of the Sustainable Development he/she needs to be more published, mainly in the technical schools and in the universities in general, with disciplines that approach the theme, that it is of a lot of importance for the present and the humanity's future, being respected the particularities of each organization.
