Resumo: | This paper was created as the result of the writer´s interest in verifying what purposes lead an employee in the health area to continue working in a organization for a long time, even though it presents some difficulties to support itself nowadays. This research was only possible through a case study held in Hospital Italiano, in the north area of Rio de Janeiro, with the aim of verifying the motivating factors displayed in order to compare them with the theoratical references presented throughout the paper. The used methodology was the evaluation of the personal and organizational values observed in a group of people composed of doctors, graduated nurses, technical nurses, physiotherapists, social assistants, receptionists, telephone operators, doormen and drivers. There were four steps in the elaboration of this case study such as: planning, collecting, investigation and finally the assessement of results. The implications of this research point out to the necessities of change in the hospital organizational struture with the aim of making it competitive in the current market according to contemporary demand. |
