Resumo: At the moment, Brazil does not have a proper Legal Metrology regulation to measurement storage tanks in the same way that receive a regulatory order by Inmetro. Moreover, there Conmetro has not any regulatory either. Nevertheless ANP, Receita da Fazenda Federal and companies requirement from companies, that are interested in process control, establish rules and regulations. Inmetro was designed, a long time ago, to be a measurement storage tanks servicing, receiving this tasks from INT and INPM. Inmetro is working in this area since 1973. Using procedures established by your antecedents and has improved on the job training. After quality subject and a new law for petroleum area, and other motivation agents, it is necessary to review a lot of things about this. We ve just studied a lot of subjects, standards and other documents of importance organizations for tanks calibration methods around the world. We ve seen that there are some new technologies just standardized. We did some calculations of real tank using total station and we are presenting the resolt, and making comparison of the values in order to meet the success whit this new technology and change the Brazilian method for storage tanks calibrations. We ve studied looking for to discover the best way to improve our servicing area. Meeting a great number of attendances, reducing measurement uncertainty, based on the best standards applications, and new technology, like our partner countries are doing.
