Resumo: | In this work, α-Al2O3 supported Ni catalysts, promoted with Nb2O5 in different concentrations were investigated in the generation of a synthesis gas, by comparing their selectivity and stability in the steam reforming of methane. The DRX spectra, evidenced the presence of α-Al2O3 for all catalysts, but the presence of the Nb2O5 promotor was not observe. The DRS spectra, as well as the TPR profiles evidenced the presence of different NiO species on the catalysts, showing bands characteristic to NiO with Al3+ and NiO with less interaction with the support. The TPSR results showed for all catalysts that the steam reforming mechanism prevails. The cyclohexane dehydrogenation results showed the addition of promoters caused a decrease in the rate of reaction due SMSI effect. Therefore, the most active catalyst is 10 % Ni/ α-Al2O3, probably for having the biggest amount of active sites for steam reforming of methane. |
