Resumo: | The Life Cycle assessment (LCA) is a tool or methodology for assessment of environmental aspects and potential impacts associated with a product, including steps ranging from the withdrawal of the nature of elementary raw materials entering the production system until the discard of final product. The LCA aims to assist the management and decision-making in environmental strategy of the companies and, in a broader context, assist Governments to deploy policies and technical development to the development, dissemination and application of this tool. This work is intended to carry out a study of existing global initiatives on the subject, to focus on acting of Governments in countries or economic blocks where this matter is more widely implemented and mature, compared to Brazil. Based on these experiences have tried to identify the best way of Government, by an agreement between public bodies or institutions, especially the National Institute of Metrology, Standardization and Industrial Quality (Inmetro) serve on the Brazilian Life Cycle Inventory Project to the Competitiveness of Brazilian Industry, which is the main brazilian government LCA project, because it intend create all necessary infrastructure for running ACV in our country, taking into account the involvement of several public bodies, including the Inmetro. |
