Resumo: This thesis aims to understand what are the competitive advantages of companies in Local Productive Arrangements (APL) and how they are built on vision and perception of entrepreneurs. The study also deals with the concepts of development, sustainable development, local development, arrangements and local production systems and competitive advantage in arrangements and local production systems, from industrial districts to innovative systems and local production. The theoretical demonstrated by several authors, that this process of interaction of undertakings engaged in productive clusters, causes no substantial gain competitive advantage by virtue of the characteristics endemic to the region which is, by the process of competition and collaboration that exists in organizations private and public support and coordination of local development and the creation of new technologies and knowledge. The case study demonstrates, through research, field survey of the organizational structure, problems, benefits, actions and interactions of companies and agents that are part of APL's creek furniture, setting a diagnosis of how it develops and articulates the pillars of this cluster, which can guide the trade unions, businesses and public officials in direct actions to encourage the sector. To make the survey data in the business of APL Uba / MG, field research was conducted using a questionnaire, which with the help of other models of research and specific references, searched through random sampling and probability, to gather information that could collaborate with the objective and respond to the problem.
