Resumo: The objective of this dissertation was to integrate the Six Sigma and the management of Safety, Environment and Health methods. This study is a contribution to the challenge contained in the Petrobras Strategical Plan 2020, in its Business Plan 2008/2012 for the E&P, which one of its strategical objectives is to reach standards of excellency in HSE . Six Sigma can help to translate the expression standards of excellency in quantitative results: virtually zero accident rates. The integration of the Six Sigma method with the HSE method was carried through the analysis of the Juran Trilogy applied in Six Sigma (DMADV, SDCA and DMAIC cycles) as well as the main elements of the HSE management systems contained in the OHSAS 18001, NBR ISO 14001, OSHA s PSM and API 750 standards. The product of this integration is a road map of the processes of planning, controlling, improving and management of change (for processes, products and services) applied to the HSE management. The cited processes had been detailed in its stages and sub-stages with applicable Six Sigma and HSE tools. Finally, it was made a Six Sigma tools application on accidents data of a Petrobras E&P business unit, with focus on the processes of control (SDCA) and improvement (DMAIC).
