This present project aims the re-signification of the death in contemporary western civilizations in face of the imbrications between body, communication and digital information technologies. Through experiences, in which narratives about death were found on the Internet by using virtual communities, specifically the social networking Orkut, Dead People Profiles ,this research consider the thematic studies, through the trails and vestiges of dead bodies , in a way of delineating the changes in the representation of the death articulated by digital technologies of communication and information . The main aim of this project is to discover how to keep, using the digital technologies, a connection with the immateriality, in which the man had been associated to the desire of eternity, developing memorable communicational supports in a project of the human permanence. In this way, we propose an approximation between the narratives from the Middle Age and Media Age , with the intention of understanding the main elements that cross the imaginary of the death: the space, the time, the memory and the forgetfulness that correlated give senses for such narratives. In this way, the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, is taken as the summary text about the medieval world of the dead, in the same way as the Dead People Profiles transform themselves in the communicational summary of the contemporary digital death, on attempt to understand the construction of death that crosses us in the present: the digital death, represented on the cyberspace.
