Sustainability is part of the issue of this research, which proposes, trough a qualitative and applied methodology, to establish guidelines that could allow a future environmental assessment of the building-headquarters of Petrobras, using as a basis the National Programme for the Evaluation of Environmental Impact of Buildings, developed by professionals of UNICAMP, based on the environmental, social and economical dimensions. From the analyses done, lack of environmental indicators in environmental management on issues of sustainability could have been identified, in spite of improvements, already deployed systems and installations, optimizing the use of resources. In closing comments were made suggestions based on technical ecoefficiency and environmental management, contributing to the state of the art of sustainable building and for the continuation of the search.
