Resumo: The main objective of this research is to determine the variables that act on the accomplishment of the traceability of capacitance unity farad with metrological reliability. To each particular variable, specific orientations were established and ways to reduce their effects were searched. When it was impossible to minimize them, these influences were quantified by determining the measurement unc ertainty throughout the process - from the calibration of the reference standards at BIPM to the maintenance of the capacitance unit in the laboratory. The desired results of this research will be seen in the interlaboratorial comparison of Standard capacitor that will take place in September 2004 supported by Interamericam Metrological System (Sistema Interamericano de Metrologia) SIM, organized by National Institute of Standards and Technology - NIST/USA and supervised by BIPM. This study has three main parts. It starts searching theoretical reference to validate this research. In this first step books, scientific papers on general and electrical metrology, CEPEM, METROLOGIA, e SEMETRO annals were searched. In the next step all variables that act on the traceability process were identified. Finally, the analysis of the metrological reliability level of the traceability process was done at Capacitance and Inductance Laboratory Lacin of Inmetro.
