Resumo: | Tourism is considered one of the largest industries in the world. It is pointed out as a mechanism for sustainable development and capable of integrating into the labor market, population groups with low professional qualification. It allows exchanges of information and knowledge among residents and tourists and tangible and intangible heritage's appreciation. However, definitions of sustainable tourism highlight the problem of tourism development that at the same time it can bring benefits to the environment and to the communities involved, it can also undermine ecological functions, create social conflicts and/or degrade the environment. For the development of sustainable tourism, it was introduced here the tour construct consisting of a loop trip to see deeper a place with the synergy generated by the practice of the concept of networks, partnerships and Local Productive Arrangements (LPAs). This construct is seen in the practice of tourism in the "Vale Europeu" region, state of Santa Catarina in Brazil. Aiming to make a diagnosis of sustainable local development in the region, there was a descriptive survey method, with the preparation and implementation of closed questions questionnaires to the residents and tourists in the region and interviews with open questions from the public sector and the "Médio Vale do Itajaí" Intermunicipal Consortium (CIMVI). Based on these results, a SWOT matrix was elaborated and found the region's vocation for ecotourism, and sports activities related to the nature and quality of life and nature of the region as well as weaknesses observed. An assessment was made on the issues of sustainability indicators of the UN. There was a high level of environmental awareness on the part of residents and tourists that visit the region. There was a discussion about benefits and improvements to the community in a sustainable manner, and recommendations to the stakeholders. |
