Resumo: | The evaluation of higher education in Brazil has gained great importance in the last two decades, especially since the creation of the National System for the Evaluation of Higher Education (SINAES) in 2004. As a part of this process, the monitoring of the graduating students is a fundamental tool for evaluating the quality courses offered by higher education institutions in Brazil. Since 2013, Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES) maintains a program (PAEEg) for this purpose. However, based on the results seen so far, no improvement actions were verified in undergraduate and postgraduate courses. With this research, we tried to diagnose this program, in order to evaluate the collected data and identify flaws in the current system, subsequently proposing improvements addressing such faults. We used results from digital surveys conducted by the program with the students graduated in 2010, 2011 and 2012. From which it was possible to draw a profile of the egress and their views in relation to UFES and the finished course. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with the employees involved in the program and documental analysis from various sources was conducted. Other existing programs graduate was checked to verify their structure and functioning. In this way, the research is classified as descriptive exploratory, of a qualitative-quantitative nature, and as a single case study, with data analysis technique configured as content analysis. Several problems were detected, which evidenced the need for more computerization in the program processes. Finally, this work brings as a suggestion the implementation of a computerized system coupled with a Portal of Egress, capable of enabling the program to monitor graduates in a constant and automated way, allowing the reduction of errors caused by the work currently carried out manually and allowing more agility in the dissemination of results and decision making by the managers of UFES |
