Resumo: This research deals with the representations of users from Prefeitura Municipal de Vitória’s Serviço de Orientação ao Exercício (SOE) about physical activity and health in an attempt to find elements for understanding how individuals deal with the information they’ve been in contact, via SOE, on these issues. Our main objective was to verify how SOE’s users conceive physical activity and health. Also, we tried to verify, through SOE’s guidelines, it’s legitimazing’s discourse. In addition, we seek to understand how individuals deal with the information they’ve been in contact with about physical activity and health, through SOE. Our analyzes are mostly referenced at data generated through interviews with SOE’s users but, in order to complement the analyzes, we also have used observations’ generated data, as well as elements from the experience of being a services’s user, in order to understand the users' representations of physical activity and health. Information is essential in SOE’s context, from its intervention’s suportive’s discourse to its daily intervention. While in one hand, this movement can be interpreted as an certain attempt to life on the other, you can see that the process of information’s circulation generates, in addition to the expected effect - in this case, that people get engaged in regular physical activity, via expert guidance through SOE - other possibilities that are not necessarily circumscribe the justifications and objectives of the service. About these possibilities, we highlight encounters’ production that, sometimes, is a mobilizing factor for individuals and also an element of health production. Although the discourse of active lifestyle manifests with significant expression in individuals’ speeches, it is possible to identify some tensions.
