Resumo: | This present work addresses, under an analytical and critical perspective of Geography, the thematic related to leisure in the contemporary city, having as problematic the uneven implementation of such public equipment of leisure in the city of Vitoria-ES. The discussion of theme is related to leisure as a constitutional right of citizens. Revealing how the Government corroborates the uneven spatial distribution of recreational equipment in the city studied. The discussion arose around the fact that Vitória-ES is a city geographically divided by the Massif Central, which generates differentiated spaces, as the Northeast edge, rich and equipped with the most diverse leisure equipment and the northwest edge facing the Victoria bay and the mangrove, marked by great human disparities, economic and social. It was observed for many decades, the Government was absent in the promotion of public leisure equipment at the northwest edge of Victoria which created different environments in the city. Meanwhile, the northeast edge went through an intense process of promotion of public equipment, one of the most exquisite, promoters of an appreciation of the local soil and improving the quality of life for the population living there. Thereby, the dissertation intended to investigate the public policies that were linked to the promotion of public leisure equipment in four specific neighborhoods: Grande Vitória, Nova Palestina, Maria Ortiz and Resistência, all located in the northwest edge of Victoria. The choice of the neighborhoods occurred by detecting that two of them (Maria Ortiz and Nova Palestina) received the implementation of public leisure equipment, having their edges urbanized, and the other two (Grande Vitória and Resistência) up to the present date, are awaiting for the arrival of urban infrastructure of all kinds, including leisure. |
