Resumo: Motherhood in girls aged 10 to 14 years is a phenomenon that defies public health policies and scientific academy, since its occurrence increases every year, even with the fertility rate decreasing increasing in Brazil. Looking approaching this theme to contribute to the deepening of the subject in this age group, this study aimed to understand the meaning of motherhood for mothers 10-14 years of age from their experience reports. It is part of an epidemiological investigation of a hinterland of the Holy Spirit, for the period July 2012 to February 2013, which evaluated the prenatal care of 742 postpartum women, through information recorded in form and contained in the Card Pregnant and records of the newborn. Deepens the study of ten cases relating to mothers who were between 10 and 14 at the time of delivery, using a qualitative approach that used with semi-structured individual interviews. The discussions were recorded, transcribed and analyzed using the technique of content analysis, focusing on thematic analysis. The results showed two subjects and each has defined four categories of analysis: 1) The experience of motherhood: a) The family and married life; b) What is being a mother?; c) The support received after maternity and d) Reflections about being a teenager and 2) Mother's perspective after motherhood: a) Schooling; b) The insertion in the labor market; c) Advice for young people of the same age and d) The plans for the future. The study finds that the behavior of motherhood may have different characteristics and meanings according to the social context in which these girls live. Sexual, reproductive and family framework has faces and structural forms that differ within each group and the root of this issue may be being based on a relationship that does not depend on the chronological age of the mothers.
