Resumo: | Squamous cell cancer of the head and neck (HNSCC) is the sixth most common cancer in the world. There are approximately 600,000 new cases and 300,000 deaths occur worldwide each year. The JMJD1A protein is a histone demethylase having an important role in the epigenetic regulation of DNA, it has been associated with the development and prognosis of various types of tumors. The objective was to associate the expression of JMJD1A protein with clinicopathological characteristics, prognostic and survival of patients with head and neck cancer. The analysis was performed through the evaluation of tissue microarray slide stained by immunohistochemical technique. The analysis was performed by positive or negative evaluation of the protein with strong or weak level of this expression where the protein was present. Analysis of the expression of the protein JMJD1A was performed by evaluating the expression of the protein in the nucleus and cytoplasm. |
