A produção e apropriação de sinais em libras sobre os conceitos científicos de eletroquímica a partir da perspectiva histórico-cultural

Resumo: | When entering school, the deaf finds a scenario of unpreparedness to carry out an effective school inclusion. Among the obstacles encountered, the biggest are directly linked to language appropriation, mediation and communicative processes. Many teachers do not have knowledge of Libras and interpreters are unaware of the specific contents of Chemistry. There is a series of scientific content that there are no signs in Libras, creating a difficulty for the deaf to appropriate the concept. In this way, the present work proposes to identify how the deaf appropriate the scientific concepts of electrochemistry and to elaborate signs that respect the specificity of chemistry, Libras and the deaf. Vigotski's Historical-Cultural Perspective was used as a contribution to the research. A case study was carried out in the city of Barra de São Francisco, northwest of the state of Espírito Santo. The study was carried out during the months of June and July 2021. It used all necessary measures and adaptations to carry out the research during the Covid-19 pandemic. Studies on defectology in Vygotsky's HistoricalCultural Perspective was used as a theoretical and methodological reference for the research. The project was divided into four stages: explanation, debate, association and signs. The data collection instruments were: participant observation, interviews, logbook and video recordings. Results indicate that as important as the signs are the alternative ways to internalize scientific concepts and their meanings. Sign language is the main alternative path for the cognitive development of the deaf. It can be observed that the experimentation as well as the visual schematic models corroborated with the appropriation and internalization of scientific concepts as it makes these concepts more tangible and visual. In addition, the direct contact of the deaf with the Chemistry teacher through Libras reduces the loss in the translation, interpretation and internalization of scientific concepts. The signs proposed during the research had their conceptual fundamental and not only in the written word in Portuguese. |
