Resumo: | Accidents with venomous animals are neglected in public health in tropical countries, while education and the dissemination of knowledge about this fauna are punctuated as forms of action in the epidemiological fight. However, there is a lack of teacher training regarding venomous animals and conceptual errors in textbooks are recurrent. Thus, the present work aimed to develop digital teaching material for mobile devices, built through the development of an investigative didactic sequence with high school students. It was observed that, despite the students having vast ethno-knowledge about venomous animals, this fauna was represented by generalizations of common sense from emotions and feelings built throughout life to the detriment of scientific knowledge. The generalizations are evidenced by attributing to all venomous animals the value of “dangerous” and of “being at risk of death” and characteristics such as “crawling and small”. This fact can lead to the emergence of legends, myths and semiotic stigmas present in local cultures, as well as confusion and the indiscriminate killing of fauna, venomous of medical interest or not. With this, the website about the venomous fauna of Espírito Santo was developed along with e-books containing instructions on how to use the site and proposals for activities. With this product, a methodological alternative was generated to counteract the deficient training of some educators and the conceptual mistakes in textbooks, helping in the teaching-learning of venomous animals, as well as a potential viable alternative in the dissemination of knowledge about venomous fauna and in promoting individual health. |
