Resumo: | It is from a wandering tour through the city of Vitória/ES, in the company of recyclable material collectors-members of the Capixaba Recycling Association, that this Master’s Rcities. Then, taking into account that the processes of subjectivation are generated by the devices of contemporary cities that include environmental, social, racial, gender issues... we study the existing connections between waste pickers and the capital of Espírito Santo. Intending to examine these connections, we summoned the presence of authors who work with these themes and, thus, we followed the traces of Walter Benjamin, who leads us to collect the narrative fragments of the waste pickers; in addition to other authors who appear on this tour. The writing of the dissertation was accompanied by the writer and garbage collector Carolina Maria de Jesus, whose “echo voice” resonated city experiences of recyclable material collectors. The analytical reflections were based on the narratives carried out during the itineraries traveled on the tour, then allowing the singular experiences of the waste pickers to intersect with the biography of Vitória-ES. We reflect on the research movement as a work in a constant process of construction, which does not fit, then, a conclusion Direction; therefore, we chose to make considerations. Even considering the city as a space of capitalist production that draws predominant ways of living in cities, there are several possibilities of experimentation in this place. |
