Resumo: | This study aimed to investigate conceptions that students of the third year of high school have on basic rights and the exercise of citizenship obligations. For this purpose, a questionnaire consisting of 20 closed questions and 9 open questions in the form of case study addressing some essential rights and the full exercise of civil life obligations was prepared. The instrument was subjected to 136 students between 16 and 18 years, of both sexes, enrolled in the third year of three public high schools. The results show that, in general, the views of students about legislation are closer to those rights laws that permeate your reality and practice, will distancing as the proposed rights were distant from their reality, so that apparently the knowledge that they have about the rights rests more on common sense than academic achievement. The findings highlight the need for teaching strategies for inclusion of notions of law for high school students, especially across the content area subjects pertaining to the humanities. Based on these findings, we created a proposal with suggestions of guidelines for implementation of the Education Law in the context of the disciplines of history, geography, sociology and philosophy, starting from an interweaving between the content in the Basic Curriculum State School of the Holy Spirit and legislative arrangements that could engage with the themes, seeking to establish a minimum bid that could, without prejudice to the content development, serve as a tool for promotion of education in law, thus contributing to the formation Citizenship |
