Resumo: Conducting studies on vulnerability in an integrated analysis, which includes both environmental and social aspects, is an important instrument not only to expand the knowledge of a knowledge of a certain area, but also to support decision-making in the face of socio-environmental problems. The Agrarian Reform settlements have a diversity of social characteristics in addition to being located in locations where environmental systems have potentialities and specific limitations. Given the lack of studies on the environmental and social risks faced by these communities, as well as the uncertainties of future climatic conditions, the objective of this research was to develop a method to identify the socio-environmental vulnerability of the settlements. The method was built from the consideration of environmental (climate and water) and social variables. For the construction of the Social and Environmental Vulnerability Index (IVUSA), the following indicators were used: Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Index for Water Use - Water Resources Management (ICG) and the Conflict Index by Water Use - Water Resources Planning (icp), Water Security Index (ISH), Moisture Index (Iu) and Social Vulnerability Index (IVS). The results showed that the use of these indicators in the construction of the IVUSA constitutes an integration of data that it satisfactorily represents the socio-environmental vulnerability of the settlements.
