Resumo: Play is universal and possesses specific character in way that the rhythm of the entertainment, its dynamics and its rules adjust the conditions to it occurs, facilitating the social interactions, favoring the formation of friends relationships. The purpose of the present research was to describe, compare and analyze the play and its linking with the formation of friendships. Interviews were structuralized in depth with four Germans, four Brazilians and four Lebanese that had been become fulfilled who had lived infancy in its native countries and now lives in Brazil. This research approached the following aspects: cultures aspects to the brief biography of each participant, reminds of the childhood, general and qualitative characteristics of friendship and play, old and new plays and relation between play and friendship. Dates had been analyzed and organized in qualitative way, in accordance with the similarity them argued subjects. It was evidenced that the joke measured friendship nets and supports in the maintenance of these relationships, independent of the culture traditions. One gives credit that to investigate play and friendship in specific cultural aspects, it makes possible to the individual while the exactly immersed construction of subject itself in the partner-cultural environment. Thus, the expression human being by means of the playful one demonstrates that playing is efficient in the interpersonal relations of friendship, contributing for the formation of the human.
