Resumo: | There is no denying the importance of transport infrastructure for business, for the economy and for the country at the moment. However, the provision of transport infrastructure should be available at reasonable costs and in order to facilitate compliance with this growing demand seen around the world, not different in Brazil. On this context topping up the rail segment, which provides transport of high volumes at relatively low cost. To support this requirement, is important to know the parameters present on a rail system and know what are their impacts on transport capacity in order to direct actions focused on operational improvement and proper allocation of capital investments. To quantify these impacts, we sought to develop a simulation model able to identify the impacts on the ability of a stretch of railway double track to the variation of two parameters: the size of the trains, which can be altered before the excess capacity of the marketing national railways, this guideline this new regulatory framework, and the length of the block sections, before low levels of investment made to date by the railway concessions in activity and great potential for new investment will be allocated to the rail segment to meet future demands. After defining various scenarios, conducted the analysis of the results and can identify both the variation in the size of the trains when the length of the block sections generate variations in the ability of rail transport at a stretch, getting those characterized as important parameters that should be part of any analysis of capacity or investments in the rail segment. |
