Atitudes dos profissionais de um curso dirigido à área de segurança pública frente ao álcool, alcoolismo e alcoolista

Resumo: The alcohol has always been part of society and its harmful consumption is associated with numerous consequences. Associated with this is evidenced the lack of preparation and training of professionals working with drug users resulting in negative consequences for interpersonal relationships with the user as to their own treatment. Seeking to contribute to the transformation of this reality arises the Centro Regional de Referência sobre Drogas do Espírito Santo (CRR-ES) to carry out targeted training to these workers. Thus, the study aimed to evaluate the attitudes of participants in a course directed to public safety net to alcohol, alcoholism and alcohol addicts before and after the training offered by the CRR-ES. This is an exploratory, descriptive comparative quasi-experimental approach is made up of 43 professionals (quantitative study) and 11 professionals (qualitative study) of a training course offered by the CRR-ES in 2014. It was used as a tool the “Escala de Atitudes Frente ao Álcool, ao Alcoolismo e ao Alcoolista” (EAFAAA) being applied before and after the course, demographic questionnaire and semi-structured interviews applied after the course. Quantitative data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22 while qualitative data were studied by Bardin content analysis. The results show a predominance of females, mean age 35 years and the majority of professionals with expertise, however, in other subject areas. Most professionals evaluated showed an increase in positive attitudes towards alcohol, alcoholism and people with disorders related to alcohol use after completion of the course and reported how fragile the difficulty of communicating with the network of interdisciplinary and inter-institutional attention and the efficiency and effectiveness of its operation. Therefore, the research allowed to know the attitudes of professionals in the public and the theme security, compare these attitudes before and after specific training, and discuss the weaknesses found related to the care networks and the possible consequences on adherence and treatment of alcohol.
