Resumo: | The Laboratório de Pesquisa em Educação do Corpo in partnership with PROTEORIA has been dedicated to analyzing how young athletes reconcile activities related to professionalization in sports and in the scope of studies. These young people live in a dual career situation, so they live among the obligations that surround sports activities such as regular training, competitions, travel and personal care, and are involved in educational activities such as classes in institutions, studies in other spaces, making works. The study presented here problematizes the relation of the role of the family in the construction of a sports career, in addition, it brings the conceptualization of the project from the case experienced by a sportsman. The theoretical-methodological framework that underpinned this research was based on the concepts of family project, individual project and social network. All the athletes that participated in the research benefited from the program of the Ministry of Sport, student category, that is, they had to be enrolled in an educational institution during the period of receipt of the aid. In this scenario, the family participation can be recorded in a peculiar way for each interviewed athlete, some cases were approaching, however, the specifics made a difference. The parents were identified as the greatest motivators of their children's sports career, while the mothers according to the respondents' statements point to the maternal figure as the one who performs the role of mediator of sports and sociocultural activities. In addition, social networks contribute to maintaining careers in the sport, so members who are not directly linked to the family come on the scene and play the role of supporters. In relation to the project, the presented case allows us to understand how the family positions itself in relation to an individual project of a young sportsman who could not give segment to the professionalization process, thus, the individual project changes, and the family project goes into Action to assist in building the new project. Thus, we conclude that, we understand the role of the family as central in sports construction, however, there are agents that help. The individual projects of an athlete must pass through at least one member of the family. |
