Resumo: Brazilian ports handle over 90% of international cargo of the country. Containers have been growing year by year in Brazil and now account for 10.4% of all cargo handled. The container ships are usually hired by a category of service called liners. The liner ships have a fixed service schedule previously made public to all stakeholders, and if the ship doesn´t berth at the port within an agreed waiting time, calculated as the berthing time minus its arrival time, called berthing window. There is a condition called canceled schedule and the ship don’t berth at the port and continues its voyage to avoid compromising all schedules in the other ports. Therefore, in the analyzed context, it is important to provide the ports a tool that minimizes the number of canceled schedules, with consequent loss of revenue and contract for the port. For planning the berthing of ships in the port, the literature proposed the Berth Allocation Problem (BAP). This paper proposes a mathematical model based on the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) with Profits, Time Window and Multiple Depots applied to the planning the berthing of liners ships with the possibility of cancelling a vessel schedule with the objectives: maximize the revenue for the serving ships and also reducing the waiting time for the ship to berth. Test instances have been developed based on theoperational features of the Vila Velha Terminal (TVV) and the model was run in CPLEX12.6. The results showed the efficiency of the proposed model to plan the berthing of vessels reducing the number of canceled schedules and also maximizing the port revenue.
