Resumo: The evaluation process is an extremely important pillar for maintaining organizational and teaching quality, whether in public or private institutions. The establishment of indicators, objectives and goals to be observed by the Postgraduate Programs facilitates the decision-making process, showing the manager which weaknesses can be improved and adapted. The evaluation has a particularly relevant role for the Postgraduate Program in Public Management - PPGGP of the Federal University of Espírito Santo, given that in the last evaluations carried out by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Professionals, the Program obtained the minimum score for maintaining its accreditation. However, UFES's PPGGP does not currently have any institutionalized mechanism capable of measuring the degree of understanding of graduates as to the level of adequacy of their dissertations to the scope of the program, according to CAPES indicators. Based on this scenario, the aim of the present work is to evaluate the perception of graduates about the information needed to contextualize UFES's PPGGP dissertations, in the period from 2017 to 2019, with a view to institutionalizing the metadata collection instrument of the dissertations of UFES. and thus contribute to the constant improvement of the program in the light of the guidelines established by CAPES. The research was supported by the modern concept of evaluation as an instrument for decision making and self-evaluation as part of the new evaluation agenda by CAPES. It is a qualitative approach, configuring the research as bibliographic. Data collection was done through the application of a questionnaire, with closed and open questions. The answers provided by the graduates were compiled in tables for better visualization and compared with the theory in descriptive texts. From the results, it was presented, as a technical product, an instrument for collecting metadata from the PPGGP dissertations, with indications of the degree of difficulty to be worked on by the supervisors, who is able to raise the information related to the master's work between 2017-2019 (1st Semester), as well as to be applied to future students who come to conclude the UFES PPGGP.
