Resumo: How can reading be studied? Or, even more intriguing, how can we study reading experiences that move, impact and transform the reader? What are the relations between reading, particularly of the literary kind, and not only for information, and attentional processes? Is it the same attention or the same attentional gestures that are mobilized during reading? During any kind of reading? This research is an essay that proposes to think about the relations between attention and literary reading, which is understood as experience. The connections between attention (allied to a cognitive politic that sees cognitive processes in its dimension of processuality, not as data processing), literary reading and experience are complex and must be looked at with care. Facing the discourses that announce the end of a certain literary culture, as well as the widespread of attentional disabilities, this work tries to think possible pointers and practices for nurturing aesthetic experiences, as they are understood as potent mechanisms of invention of new and more sustainable ways of living in the contemporary times.
