Resumo: The Juçara palm (Euterpe edulis Mart.), A native species of the Atlantic Forest, has attracted attention from the market, industry and producers due to its fruits with high nutritional values and, therefore, the need to insert it has been presented. in breeding programs, in order to know all its potentialities and select superior materials. This research aimed to select superior genotypes of Euterpe edulis in terms of total soluble solids (SST), total titratable acidity (ACID), total soluble solids and total titratable acidity (SST / ACID) and pH, estimate genetic parameters, predict the genetic parameters, genetic gains and to investigate associations between the evaluated traits, enabling the selection of superior genotypes. 288 genotypes of E. edulis were collected in a commercial plantation located in Rio Novo do Sul-ES. The study of selection of promising individuals was carried out based on the mixed model method and the component values of variance were calculated based on the method of maximum restricted likelihood (REML) and the genotypic values predicted by the non-addicted linear predictor (BLUP), and the analyzes were made with the aid of the software R. With the predicted values of the genotypes, the rank of the genotypes was calculated for each of the four evaluated variables and a selection was applied that resulted in the selection of 56 genotypes. The evaluation of the genetic diversity of the population was carried out using the predicted values, the standardized average Euclidean distance matrix and the grouping by UPGMA. It was found that there was a high and negative correlation between pH and ACID (-0.56) and a high positive correlation between SST / ACID and pH (0.54) and it was found that variable ACID was the one that obtained the most heritability value. high and greater genetic gain. It was concluded that the 288 genotypes of Euterpe edulis analyzed for the characteristics SST, ACID, SST / ACID and pH showed remarkable qualities, being possible the selection of 56 genotypes that had better performance. These selected genotypes showed positive gains in relation to the original population. The 5 genotypes that got the most prominence, the most indicated were: G705, G328, 29 G648, G668 and G747. With this study it was also possible to conclude that the insertion of the juçara in the fruit and in the breeding programs is an interesting option.
