Resumo: Comprehensiveness, as a guiding principle of SUS health practices, must be embedded in the actions of the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS), so it is pertinent that the physical education professional working in mental health services seeks to reframe their practices through a vision that privileges the integrality of care. This study aimed to understand physical education as a strategy for comprehensive psychosocial care. The documents consulted were the ordinances and resolutions dated from January 2011 to June 2019 with access available in the virtual database SAUDE LEGIS, which justify the PNSM from the institutionalization of RAPS. During the analysis, it was possible to perceive the existence of points in favor of integrality as well as unfavorable points. Regarding the insertion of physical education as a care strategy in the RAPS, we note that it is not mandatory and the possibility of using body practices and physical activities in the PTS. Through research on experiences of insertion of the physical education professional in the CAPS, we realized that physical education has been based on the principle of integrality and on the psychiatric reform guidelines to plan its intervention, configuring itself as an important health promotion and care strategy mental health in CAPS, however there is still a need to invest in changes in the composition of training and in PNSM in order to contemplate, respectively, knowledge about mental health and ensuring the insertion of physical education professional procedures in aspects of mental health .
